Avast SecureLine VPN

Avast SecureLine VPN is a capable VPN provider – but you can get better quality VPNs at a lower price on the market.

For example, NordVPN provides world-class VPN functionality at a very reasonable monthly cost.

So why should you settle for a VPN that offers less?

SecureLine VPN is a brand-new Avast product release on the market.

It’s an intelligent company move to secure more market share.

The VPN integrates well with all other security services in the enterprise portfolio, offering real added value to the customer.

Avast VPN offers a significant improvement in security services today. However, the service cannot always be viewed positively.

So I decided this time to test the VPN myself to be sure it would work. Thanks to the 30-day money-back guarantee, I was fortunate to be able to test the service without risk.

It would be best if you asked yourself some critical questions when testing a new VPN service.

Here are the ones I have:

  • Which are the unique selling points of the VPN?
  • Can the VPN be used securely?
  • Will the VPN support torrents?

These are questions that have to be answered, and I only give an opinion if the VPN is worth its relatively high price.

It also determines whether I can advise with a clear conscience or not.

Avast SecureLine VPN Overview

What are the strengths of Avast SecureLine VPN today?

A high-quality VPN should always have some characteristics that set it apart from the crowd.

Ideally, you’ll find something similar to other vendors. The Avast SecureLine VPN has some unique features that I like.

Avast SecureLine VPN not only offers you a VPN, but it also helps you request anti-virus applications from vendors.

It’s a little expensive, but it’s integrated into the VPN.

You’re protected against online attacks, as well as malware and viruses.

In today’s world, malware and viruses infiltrate and damage your devices.

This puts your data at risk. At worst, data loss can occur in your system.

There is also a real-time Customer Support Center.

This is a feature that you rarely find on the market.

Is Avast SecureLine a reliable VPN?

It would be best if you realized that the most crucial aspect of using a VPN is its ability to provide security and privacy when using the Internet.

Avast SecureLine VPN ensures protection for AES 256-bit, DNS, and IP leakage protection and strict non-registration policy.

The company also offers two secure protocols for the connection.

OpenVPN is available via UDP and IPSec.

This all sounds great, but I didn’t blindly trust the company.

I decided to test Avast SecureLine VPN and wanted to analyze the security aspects and see how it works.

First, I tested the DNS leak protection.

I activated the VPN and connected it to an American server.

Then I automatically checked the results for my US VPN server.

I also managed to perform an IP leak test so that when I connected to the server abroad, my IP address would change.

The IP leakage test is critical.

The location must change.

You can see below that the IP address is from the USA, and in fact, the IP address is on the other side of the world.

I was completely protected by Avast SecureLine VPN at the time.

The level of security is per military standards.

Now you know that your information cannot be invaded or made vulnerable to cyber-attacks.

Avast SecureLine VPN provides total protection during fully anonymous web browsing.

Will Avast SecureLine VPN Allow me to Access Torrents?

I was delighted to find that 8 servers are configured for torrents when I checked the Avast SecureLine VPN.

Currently, Avast SecureLine P2P servers are available in France, New York, Miami, Czech Republic, Seattle, United Kingdom, and the Netherlands.

As I wanted to test the download speed, I downloaded some series and movies.

I couldn’t find any difference between turning the VPN on and off.

All downloads were done in a relatively short period.

Protected from Penalties or Throttling

From the moment my IP address was securely verified, it was clear to me that I was protected from prosecution or throttling by the authorities at any time.

Avast SecureLine VPN Speed Score – 6.8

When you use a VPN, it will often affect the connection speed, since the data must travel a greater distance for protection to work.

Usually, good VPNs find ways to ensure that your Internet connection is not too fast.

I used Ooklas’ speed test to test this. Thus, Avast SecureLine VPN speeds were compared to the average speed of my Internet line.

Ooklas” Speed Test Original Location

I tested it on the first server, which was recommended by Avast SecureLine VPN.

I got extremely surprised by the VPN features and performance overall.

The speed of my download still improved a bit. This situation rarely happens, although it is possible.

VPN hides traffic, so the Internet Service Provider (ISP) can no longer slow the data transfer speed on the network.

I also performed speed tests with some other servers that are on the other side of the globe, to know how fast a server is.

Sometimes speeds are the best on the market.

I was thrilled with the consistent speeds of Avast SecureLine VPN, even though the servers are located on the opposite side of the world.

Many variables influence the speed of a VPN

For this reason, most speed tests are useless, and since we correctly tested VPN speeds.

There are several variables that can directly affect the speed of a VPN on the Internet.

Therefore, several speed tests may prove useless in practice.

Because a VPN encrypts your data, it usually takes a little longer to transmit and receive your data.

That particular situation can delay the connections between the VPN and the ISP provider.

However, if your ISP throttles your connection intentionally, the VPN can even increase the speed of your Internet connection.

Also, new servers can influence the speed of your network connection. Furthermore, the test results may also depend on your location so that the Internet connection speed may vary from ours.

By testing the VPN at several locations, we can provide you with an accurate and reliable benchmark of the VPN performance.

Avast SecureLine VPN Servers Score – 8

Unfortunately, the number of servers this VPN offers at the moment is not fantastic.

Currently, there are only 57 servers in 35 countries.

That means that Avast SecureLine VPN cannot compete with ExpressVPN or NordVPN.

Both run several thousand servers worldwide.

Avast SecureLine VPN Servers

The company supplies servers in the leading countries.

Among them are several servers in Great Britain, Germany, Canada, Spain, and Russia.

In the United States, there are 16 servers, and for smaller services, this is fantastic.

Does the Avast SecureLine VPN work in China securely?

If you live now or travel to China, I cannot recommend Avast SecureLine VPN. In China, it cannot bypass the massive firewall.

However, the Avast team told me that the service does not work in China.

The technology of the extensive firewall is too advanced, so the service cannot bypass it.

If you want to try it out, the results will be network transmission errors.

Even the antivirus software becomes inactive in China and can no longer be used by the user.

If you need a VPN for China, please see my review on ExpressVPN for more information.

Can Avast access Netflix with SecureLine VPN?

UPDATE: Avast SecureLine recently updated its servers, and there are currently four servers optimized for streaming.

Two of them are in the United States, and one is in the United Kingdom.

I was pleasantly surprised by Netflix’s performance during a recent test, as I still haven’t seen the notorious known proxy error.

That is a new and hopefully update that I hope will stay that way.

Yet UK servers were always unable to activate Netflix, and the well-known Netflix mistake occurred.

In the coming weeks, I’ll recheck this, watching to see if the situation has improved.

Does Avast SecureLine VPN fit perfectly with Streaming?

I tried other streaming options after watching Netflix. The results caused me a mixture of different feelings.

I was able to access ESPN and NBC on U.S. servers, which allowed me to stream to the system.

However, a proxy error occurred on the Hulu server.

Additionally, I was able to watch the Game of Thrones at Flixtor, which gave me a good streaming quality.

In Great Britain, I could access the iPlayer and ITV Hub and watch the stream properly.

In general terms, I was delighted with the result obtained with the streaming tests available here.

The main error people make regarding choosing a VPN is the comparative analysis of server numbers with what you should search.

The number of servers per country is an essential factor when choosing a VPN.

However, if we only consider the location and number of servers, this can be problematic when choosing a VPN.

Multiple servers usually mean higher speeds, but if VPN X has more servers than VPN Y and twice as many users, then VPN X, as a result, offers lower speeds to its users.

Preferably, you want a VPN that has many servers for each location.

So you don’t have to worry about connecting to the server or region, being overwhelmed, or too late.

Avast SecureLine VPN User Experience Score – 8.2

There was something I particularly liked about the service provided. The installation is simple with a user-friendly interface.

It provides an ideal service for newcomers into the world of Internet VPNs.

The application is self-explanatory and easy to use for the first time. Newcomers will love that there is no difficulty in connecting to a particular server.

To establish a secure connection, turn on an access switch to the desired server.

There is also a “Settings” menu to customize the service according to your personal needs.

You can make several changes here, such as specifying that the VPN is enabled when starting your device.

Besides, you can also configure the emergency stop switch of your services here.

Avast SecureLine VPN is a VPN compatible with most popular devices on the market, as well as unique applications available for Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, and iOS.

You can protect up to five devices simultaneously, and you will be fully protected on your network.

VPN Customer Service Score – 8.2

I was pleasantly surprised by the customer service and its competence level.

The company does some things right int his department. You can contact Avast SecureLine VPN customer service in three different ways.

Sometimes these are e-mails, a live call center, or something similar.

At first, the options to get help were not available yet.

You can use the forum for this purpose, or you can send an e-mail to them.

However, this way, I don’t get an immediate response.

This situation is annoying if the request is urgent for me.

However, then I discovered the Live Call Center that helped me make the request.

It is the Live Call Center that makes customer service so different from many competitors.

With a VPN, it isn’t straightforward for you to talk to a human employee over the phone at any time.

I think this option is precious to Avast SecureLine VPN.

In many ways, I think it will improve service quality.

The answers from the call center will not merely be copied from the FAQ section of the VPN site.

Also, the user will not be directed to a guide and will not receive a canned answer.

However, there is some useful information available, and you can ask customer support for step-by-step guidance to solve any problem if needed.

Why Is Customer Support So Crucial at This Time?

Server Location of a VPN

In many people’s opinion, excellent support is only necessary during the installation of a VPN.

However, there may be many other cases that need customer service. Examples are connections to special servers, changing the security protocol, or setting up a VPN connection on the router used.

In such situations, support can be beneficial to the client.

We check each VPN provider, see if the support is always available (even at night), how quickly it is answered, and if our questions are answered successfully.

Price VPN 8.5

Avast SecureLine VPN offers multiple options for payment, depending on your apps.

For Windows and Mac, for example, the service is much more costly than, say, having a subscription to iOS or Android.

Avast SecureLine VPN also offers a 7-day free trial that does not require a credit card.

It gives you the chance to check out the services offered.

If that’s not enough, you have a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Avast SecureLine VPN allows you to pay in many different ways. The company accepts major credit cards, BPay, PayPal, Alipay, etc.

However, there is also a disadvantage with the payment methods available.

I want the company to accept cryptographic currencies like Bitcoin.

Additional Payment Methods Availability – Credit Cards

  • Master Card
  • Visa
  • Discover
  • The PayPal® payment method
  • Alipay only for customers with a bank account in China
  • PaySafe Card
  • PayU
  • Through bank transfer
  • The Avast SecureLine VPN Can Provide Quality Services at Competitive Rates.

But can it rival other top VPNs in the market?

We can hardly say that it can.

Try it out the 30 days free trial and check the list of currently recommended VPNs.
