The iPhone XR and iPhone 11 Pro Max both come preinstalled with Apple’s stock iOS 13 software, and while it does include many useful features, it lacks one feature that most people want: the ability to change the app icons on their device. We’ve covered you if you want to replace the default apps with something else. Here’s what you need to know about changing app icons on iOS.

Step 1: Tap on Customize Controls, and scroll down to see the list of options.

Step 2: Scroll down and tap on Use High Contrast Mode. This option lets you use a high contrast mode to help those with color blindness or low vision. You can choose from three modes: Darken Colors, Increase Brightness, and Decrease Color Saturation.

Step 3: Next, tap on Choose Icon Size. You can select the size of the app icons on your home screen. For example, you could set the standard size to 32×32 pixels and adjust the aspect ratio.

Step 4: Finally, tap on Add New Shortcut to open the Shortcuts app. Now you can drag the icon from the Finder or another folder onto the Shortcuts app. When you do, you’ll notice that the icon automatically changes to show where the shortcut came from.

Now you just need to save the Shortcut, and you’ll have a new custom icon on your Home screen. To do this, tap on the little arrow next to the Shortcut name, and then tap Save.

If you don’t like how the icon turned out, you can delete the Shortcut and start over again. Simply repeat Steps 1–4 above to recreate the Shortcut.

If you want to change the look of your iPhone or iPad without having to buy a third-party tweak, there are some shortcuts you can use. These work like you might use a shortcut on Windows 10 or macOS Mojave.

Using the Shortcuts app, built into iOS 13, you can find an existing image or take a photo that can be used as the app’s default icon image.

While being able to customize your phone’s home screen can let your creative juices flow, keep in mind this method essentially creates a second copy of the app instead of changing the actual one.

When customizing the home screen of your iPhone or iPad, you can let your imagination run wild. Instead of changing the original app, this method creates a duplicate.

  • You can hide the original icon in the app library if you want.
  • You can use the following method on an iPhone or iPad to prevent app icons from changing:
  • Launch the Shortcuts app.
  • Tap the “+” icon in the upper right corner.
  • Click on “Add action.”
  • Tap “Open App” (tap “i” to save the action for later use).
  • Click on “Select.”
  • Change the app you want to use.
  • Directly above the three dots is a button with three dots. Tap on it.
  • You can also enter a name that you want Siri to use. Click on “Add to the home screen.”
  • Tap the icon to the left of the name you want to appear on the iPhone or iPad home screen.
  • Creating a new app icon is as easy as selecting a file, or photo, or taking a picture.
  • Tap Select after you customize the frame image.
  • Click “Add.”

It’s that simple. Although it’s just a bookmark that launches your chosen app, you can hide the original and place the personalized icon anywhere on the iPhone or iPad home screen.

Think outside the box. Here are 14 iOS tips and tricks you can use to personalize your iPhone.

How do I change my app icons’ custom?

You’ll love this tutorial if you’ve ever wanted to customize your iPhone by creating your wallpapers or applications!

It’s possible to create custom home screens for your iPhone by creating separate shortcuts for each program. However, creating them is very tedious and time-consuming.

Here’s how to do it:

Before you start, you should find an icon for the new shortcut. There are many icon resources on the Internet (e.g., Flaticon). You can also design an icon if you’re artistically talented and ambitious. Please save it to photos, whether you use someone else’s image or your own.

Let’s get started.

  1. Open the Shortcuts app by tapping its icon on your iPhone’s main menu. If you can’t see it right away, swipe left from the bottom of the page until you get to the app library, and type “Shortcuts” in the text box at the top.
  2. Once inside the app, tap the “plus” icon in the upper right corner. Then, type the title of your new action in the window above and tap “Add Action.”
  3. Right now, we want you to open an application. To do this, type “Open App” in the Spotlight box (the magnifying glass icon) in the upper left corner of the screen. Tap the “Open App” button.
  4. An app list will appear when you click the app icon next to “Open.” Select the app you want to edit.
  5. Tap the blue icon at the top right of the screen. You’ll then return to your shortcuts page.
  6. Click on “Add to Home Screen.”
  7. You’ll first see a preview of the shortcut (an ordinary, boring shortcut that automatically creates shortcuts). But don’t worry, we’ll get it right.
  8. To create a shortcut for your application, click the icon under “Home screen name and icon.”
  9. Then choose one of the three options:
  10. Take a Picture, Select from Pictures, or Select a File.
  11. If you already have an image saved in Photos, select “Select Image” and choose the image you want to use.

To select an image from your library:

  1. Tap the image’s thumbnail in the upper left corner of the screen.
  2. Drag the image to where you want it to appear. You can then resize the image by tapping and dragging the edges of the image.
  3. Tap “Done” in the lower right corner.
  4. You’ll now see your new icon. Your shortcut’s label can be added by typing the text next to the icon.
  5. Click “Add” in the upper right corner of the screen.

Congratulations! Your new custom icon has been added to your home screens.

You may see two new icons on your home screen: one with the first boring icon and one with your beautiful new icon.

In this case, press the icon you don’t want and select “Delete favorites.” Remember, this (and any others you create) is a bookmark/shortcut – not the original.

You can also hide your original application icon, only seeing the new one. (You don’t want to remove it entirely because that would remove the application).

Long press on the original entry of an app store and select “Edit home screen.”

To remove an application from your iPhone, tap the minus sign. In the pop-up menu, tap “Remove from Home Screen.” You can always bring the program back later by tapping its name in the application library.

When you click the new icon, a small pop-up window may appear, telling you the name of the original application and reminding you that it’s a shortcut, but the pop-up window quickly disappears.

Two ways to change app icons without shortcuts.

With iOS 14, Apple has made it easier than ever to customize the look and feel of the iPhone. Within days of iOS 14’s release, users were already using shortcodes to create their unique look and feel.

You can use shortcuts to create shortcuts to any app on your phone quickly, but if you want to create custom shortcuts, you have come to the right place!

If you want rain sounds in iOS 15, learn how to add them here.

Here are two ways to quickly update your app icon for iOS 15.

There are two ways to change an icon for an iPhone XS or newer from the Settings menu.

Method #01: Use the app’s built-in “Change” button.

You can not change the app icon without using shortcuts. However, there are several ways to change the app icon without shortcuts.

For example, Telegram offers the ability to change your app icons both on the iOS home screen and throughout the operating system.

To do so, go to Telegram > Settings > Appearance and select one of the four available options.

Once selected, your image will be applied to every part of iOS, including lock screens, notifications, and even the Apple Watch interface.

You can find the option to replace an app icon for the following apps – 1Password, Apollo for reds, Bear, Cozy, CARROT Weather, Duckduckgo privacy browser, EmojiMe animated faces, Fantastical, MLB, NHL, Overcast, PCALC, Pocketcasts, Reeder, Streakswithoutlimits, Telegram, Tinder, Twitterrific: tweet your way, Unlox, Working copy, and many more.

  • Tap on Widgets and select “Add Widget.”
  • Choose which widget you’d like to add.
  • Once you’ve added the widget, tap on it to open its settings page.
  • Select “Remove From Home Screen” and confirm.
  • Now, go back to your home screen and find the widget you removed.
  • Drag it to another part of the home screen where you want it to appear.
  • Repeat this process until you’ve removed every app from your home screen.

There are several options to change the look of your iPhone’s home screen. You can replace the default Apple logo with your design or use third-party applications to change the look of your home screen.

It is difficult to tell you exactly what steps you need to take when applying icons to each application. However, if you go through the configuration screens of the applications you use, you may be able to figure out where you need to change the icon.

When you change the default icons for applications on your iPhone, you’ll be prompted to choose one of several options.

Method #2: Use widgets on the home screen.

After many months of development, Apple finally released an App Store update that allows developers to create custom app icons and shortcuts.

With these new features, users can customize the look of their home screen and find their favorite apps more easily.

With these changes, Apple hopes to encourage developers to create better-quality apps.

If you want to give your iPhone a new look, widgets are a better choice than replacing your existing apps with new ones.

  • You can choose from various pre-made widgets or create your own using the available options.
  • Using WIDGEON is easy, and you do not have to search through an app’s settings page to find one!
  • You can find WIDGEWINES for all installed applications ON YOUR IPHONE from the WIDGEWINS MENUS on the HOME SCREEN.
  • The process is simple…long press on a blank area of your home screen and then tap the plus icon in the upper left or right corner of your phone.
  • When the Widget screen appears, click on the widget you want to add to your home screen. Then drag it to your home screen where you want it to appear.
  • You can also click the Add Widget button at the bottom of the page to add any widget from another application.
  • Now swipe right/down to see what widgets you can add to your home screen. Then click on “Add WIDGEt” to add one.
  • You have selected a new application for your home screen.
  • You can place and access any app widget on your Today screen by swiping your finger from the left side of the lock screen.

Why can I not change an iPhone app icon in iOS 15?

Why can I not change an iPhone app icon in iOS 15?

With iOS 14, Apple finally added shortcuts to the iPhone home screen. However, nothing has improved since then. If anything, things have gotten worse.

Even though a whole year has passed since iOS 15 was released (and we are almost at the end of 2019), the process for creating shortcuts is still the same.

  • You still need to open the Shortcuts app, create a new shortcut, and drag the icon from there to the Home screen.
  • There are no legitimate ways to customize the icons for your iPhone apps. However, check out these apps to see some cool customizations.
  • On iOS, unlike Android, there is no way to install custom icons or theme apps. There’s also no way to use third-party launcher apps like there is on Android.
  • With Shortcut, Apple has just started allowing third-party developers to customize the home screens of their iPhones.

And since allowing third parties to customize their phones would mean losing control over which apps they want to promote and earn revenue from, Apple is unlikely to do so anytime soon.

That’s everything you need to know about your app icon update for iOS 15.
